Coach Allen Clarke to Join Seattle Seawolves Permanently
UPDATE:
The Dallas Jackals and Seattle Seawolves have agreed for Coach Allen Clarke to become the permanent Head Coach of Seattle effective immediately. With the Jackals postponement to the 2022 season, Coach Clarke had previously been loaned to Seattle for the remainder of the 2021 season. Upon further negotiations, Seattle is compensating the Jackals with an undisclosed sum, including a donation to the Dallas Jackals Foundation, in exchange for the Jackals to release Coach Clarke to become Seattle’s permanent Head Coach.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Clarkie over the last year. He has a dedication to the sport of rugby and a passion for helping our young league grow. We wish him all the best in Seattle, except when it’s against the Jackals of course, then it’s game on,” said Scott Sonju, Jackals President.
The search for the Jackals’ Head Coach is underway as we prepare for a successful inaugural season next year.

Earlier in the week the Jackals were contacted by the Seattle Seawolves regarding Coach Clarke joining as Technical Coach. After discussing the opportunity with Coach Clarke, an agreement was made for him to join the Seawolves for the remainder of the 2021 MLR Season. Coach Clarke looks forward to returning to the Jackals after the 2021 season to continue preparing for the 2022 Inaugural Season.
“I’m looking forward to arriving in Seattle and getting on the field to work with the Seawolves players & coaching team,” said Coach Clarke. “The club has a rich history of success in the MLR and I’m excited to add my support for the remainder of the 2021 season before returning to Dallas to prepare for our inaugural season. Things have happened quite quickly and for that I’m grateful to Scott Sonju of Dallas Jackals in working with Adrian Balfour to allow this opportunity to occur.”
Dallas Jackals President Scott Sonju said, “We are delighted with this short term arrangement as it benefits all parties, and the Jackals will hit the ground running when Coach Clarke returns to us in a few months.”
