Dallas Jackals Add Former Premiership Aaron Jarvis as Assistant Coach
The Dallas Jackals are excited to announce Aaron Jarvis is joining the Coaching Staff as Assistant Coach. Capped by Wales, Jarvis is coming off an impressive playing career book ended by his time with Welsh side Dragons Rugby, where he played and coached the academy since 2018.
Jarvis’ playing career is highlighted by his 18 caps with the Welsh National Team including being named to the 2015 World Cup squad. He also was part of the 2012 Pro12 winning Ospreys, the 2017 Top 14 French club ASM Clermont Auvergne championship team, and made 50 appearances with Premiership’s Bath Rugby.
“It’s always been my intention to follow my playing career with a coaching career so to be given this amazing opportunity is incredible and something I couldn’t turn down,” said Jarvis. “To be going to the US when MLR is growing is a huge opportunity for me both personally and professionally.”
“Jarvo’s outlook on the importance of the environment we create as an organization, paired with what we are able to explore on field, shone through in the interview process,” said Elaine Vassie, Jackals GM. “I know with his playing background combined with his current study, he’ll be able to both empathize with players’ experiences and help us as we look to challenge some of the norms in how the game is played and coached. We’re looking forward to welcoming him and his family to the Pack!”
Currently, Jarvis is studying at University of South Wales. He will continue to complete his degree in Rugby Coaching and Performance at University of South Wales remotely.
Jarvis continued, “I’ve spoken with Elaine and Michael a lot over the past few weeks and it’s been really interesting to get a feel for the Jackals and their intentions going forward. They’re building something special and I want to be a part of it. I can’t wait to get there and meet the squad!”
Welcome to the Pack Aaron, his wife Rhona, and two children Charlie and Enea!
