Houston Native Bronson Teles To Rejoin The Jackals
Dallas Jackals are happy to announce Bronson Teles will rejoin the squad for the 2022 season! The 6’2”, 23-year-old, three-time USA U20 member, looks to make his mark in Dallas.
Born in Denmark, Teles moved to Richmond, TX at a young age where he started playing at 9 years old with the Katy Barbarians. He comes from a rugby family and credits his dad for developing the life-long passion. Continuing to Foster High School, Teles played football and rugby earning High School All-American and a USA U20 selection.
Teles went on to be recruited by University of Arizona where he majored in Economics and became a rugby stand out. As a Freshman, he was selected as a Marke Loane Medal Recipient which allowed him to attend the UQ Rugby Academy at University of Queensland Rugby Club in Australia.
Three short years later, Teles was named captain of the squad and selected PAC-12 Conference Co-Player of the Year and nominated for the Rudy Scholz Award for national player of the year. He also added the following to his rugby resume: three-time 1st Team All PAC-12 Conference selectee, 2nd Team All PAC-12 Conference member, and 2nd Team Collegiate All-American.
With his time at UA coming to a close, Teles entered and was drafted #21 overall in the first-ever MLR Collegiate Draft in 2021 by the Dallas Jackals and later was signed by Houston SaberCats in free agency.
When asked about rejoining the Jackals Teles said he is, “excited to be a part of a new franchise, new team, and a new establishment in the great city of Dallas playing the best game.” He continued to say he is looking forward to immersing himself in the Dallas culture and says, “I have always enjoyed and respected the city of Dallas and now I look forward to representing the city with a Jackal crest on my chest.”
Welcome back to the pack Bronson!
