JACKALS, OLD GLORY COLLIDE A YEAR LATER
The Dallas Jackals come back to Choctaw Stadium for Saturday’s match against Old Glory DC. It’s been 376 days, just a little over a full year to the day, since Dallas faced Old Glory on Apr. 23, 2022 on the road.
“It’s good to play at home. It brings good energy to rebound from last weekend’s loss,” Captain Jero Gomez Vara said through a Zoom call.
Gomez Vara has been ripping through opposing sides this season. His stat line shows five tries for 25 points across 10 matches.
Fellow Argentinian Aco Moroni is a tall, fast back. He connected with Martin Elias last weekend to produce a highlight reel try at the 7th minute.
“It was an opportunity on the blind side on the player and we tried to read the space,” Moroni said.
As the Pack enters the latter third of the 2023 campaign, the team’s mindset  has not drifted away from one game at a time.
“Our focus is on us. We have a good opportunity this weekend to make things happen, to go for the win,” Moroni explained.
“This is a process.”
The captain reinforced that mantra.
“Our best rival is ourselves. We like to think about that and we are focusing now on this game.”
Come cheer on the Jackals this Saturday at 7:05 PM! Doors open at 5:30 PM. Bring your canine to Bark at the Park Night by clicking here!
