Prop Marco Fepulea’i Joins the Jackals
Marco is from Auckland, New Zealand and began playing backyard rugby at a young age. Hailing from a family that has produced two All Blacks, the New Zealand national rugby side, Marco attended the prestigious rugby school Auckland Grammar School. It was during this time he found his passion for rugby and decided to pursue it professionally.
After high school, Marco continued his career playing for the U20 Blues in the Super Rugby league. Marco also played for Ponsonby Rugby Club before joining Auckland Rugby and representing his home city. In 2015, Marco played internationally on the Samoa U20’s, Samoa’s junior national squad.
Marco went on to compete for Auckland in the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup. He returns to the Auckland squad for each MLR off-season. In 2019, Marco joined the Colorado Raptors and made 16 appearances in his first season.
Marco said, “Next to rugby, my family is everything to me.” Marco has shared that his Grandma was a huge inspiration to start playing, “Her passion for the game rubbed off on me.” Marco said he wouldn’t have been able to achieve all of this without the love and support of his family.
“I’m excited for the new challenge with the Dallas Jackals,” Marco commented. “After talking with Coach Allen, I’m pumped to a part of his vision.” Marco continued, “I’ve been told everything is bigger and better in Texas, so I’m excited for the move to Dallas.” Welcome to the pack Marco!
