
Recent Draftee Argentinian Alejandro Torres Signs with the Jackals
The Dallas Jackals are happy to announce Alejandro Torres officially joins the Jackals! The fly half was drafted Round 2 Pick 23 by the Jackals in the recent 2021 Major League Rugby Collegiate Draft.
Originally from Tucuman, Argentina, Torres, 22 years old, has played rugby since the age of 5. He went on and was part of the Argentina U20 side and attend and play at Universitario Rugby Club de Tucuman, which he calls his second home. Here he and his team won the Regional Championship.
In 2019, Alejandro played for the South American select side against Uruguay. Next, he signed with the professional side Olimpia Lions who play in Superliga Americana de Rugby.
Currently, he is attending and playing at Thomas More University earning his MBA. In his free time, Alejandro likes to spend time with his family and friends.
Torres said, “I am really excited to have the opportunity to play in the Jackals and in the MLR, and share the field with awesome and experienced players.” He continued, “This is a great opportunity to learn and grow as a player.”
As a recent draftee, Torres says he hopes to help build a team identity in this first season while “always having fun playing footy.”
