From Lindenhurst, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, Timmy attended Lake Community High School where he was a three sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. His rugby origins date back to 2016 when he attended Florida State University and joined the club team.

Timmy went on to win Rookie of the Year at Florida State his freshman year. The following year, he was selected for the Southern Independent Selects and named MVP of the squad. Timmy spent the summer months playing at the Alaska Mountain Rugby grounds where he met Jake Mizell, Arkansas State University Head Coach.
