Dallas Falls After Strong Start
The Dallas Jackals lost to the defending MLR Champion New York Ironworkers on Sunday afternoon by the score of 43-14. Lui Sitama registered an automatic 7-point try early in the match. Conrado Roura added a try and Ale Torres kicked the ball between the posts in the second half.
Dallas applied pressure early and it produced results. Sitama opened scoring at 11′ . The left wing saw a small gap in New York’s line and exposed it with a blazing sprint and wheeled in the center of the pitch to complete the bonus try.
The Ironworkers turned momentum their way afterwards. They led 22-7 heading into the sheds. Despite the score, Dallas held a 56% possession and 100% scrum completion advantage at the half.
The Jackals began the second half much like the first half: strong. A try from Roura and successful conversion kick by Torres trimmed the deficit to 15 points.
However, Dallas was unable to ultimately stir a rally, losing 43-14.
