Former Utah Warrior Alex Tucci Comes to Dallas
The Dallas Jackals are delighted to announce Utah Warriors fan-favorite Alex Tucci has signed through 2023! The 6’3” 265 lb prop has four years of MLR experience and looks forward to making an impact on and off the pitch.
After attending and playing football at West Texas A&M, Tucci, 29, will return to Texas to continue his rugby career. After a move from the Bronx, New York to South Florida, Tucci began playing rugby at 14 years old at Cypress Bay HS. Tucci also played football being selected for the All-State team and later invited to the Aloha Prep Bowl his junior year.
Tucci continued both his football and rugby career at Colorado State University for three years before transferring to West Texas A&M. Post college, he played for Okapi Wanderers for a season and later traveled to Gorey, Ireland to represent Gorey RFC. In 2016, he represented the USA South Panthers.
Returning to the US, Tucci joined the MLR’s Utah Warriors for their inaugural season in 2018 where has been a fan favorite for the last four seasons. Outside of rugby, Tucci enjoys working out and playing video games where he often streams on Twitch.
Jackals GM Elaine Vassie said, “Alex is coming to Dallas with a real drive to get out and prove the positive impact he can have on and off the field. A very popular member of the Utah squad, we know our Dallas community will welcome him with open arms as he arrives in Texas.”
“I’m excited to interact with the fans and rugby community. In Utah, I got to know a lot of the people in the community, so I am most excited about that. Plus I’m excited to get back to Texas,” Tucci said. “With MLR experience behind me, I would like to show the younger players how to be in a professional environment and offer any knowledge for them to succeed on their own.”
Alex continued, “I’m looking forward to contributing to the success of the team and doing whatever I have to do so. Selfless is a word I would like to be described as, and hard working, like I’ve been for my previous club.”
Welcome to the Pack Alex!
