LATE GAME SURGE COMES UP SHORT
The Dallas Jackals posted five tries in a loss against the Utah Warriors at Zions Bank Stadium this afternoon. Juan Pablo Zeiss, Jeronimo Gomez Vara, Nicolas Revol, and Eric Naposki led the Jackals to their first point of the 2023 season.
Utah opened the scoring. Juan Pablo Zeiss quickly answered with a try to draw within two points. He was assisted by Pedro Imhoff just meters away from the try zone.
The Warriors extended the lead before Jeronimo Gomez Vara dove in his second try of the season. Dallas headed into the second half down 21-10.
The boys in green pushed down the field coming out of the break. However, Utah regained possession and charged down the pitch to increase their lead.
Revol produced the club’s first try in the second half. Utah countered with points of their own.
Eric Naposki responded. He scored two straight tries late in the second half, making it 33-25. His first try secured one bonus point in the standings.
The Jackals stopped a strong Utah phase at the try line. The final whistle blew soon after and the score remained 33-25 favoring the Warriors.
