The Dallas Jackals Have Signed, Lock, Karl Hunger
ARLINGTON, TX – The Dallas Jackals have signed Karl Hunger, lock, for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 6‘6” 230-pound Canadian makes his MLR debut this season with the Jackals.
From Beaconsfield, Quebec, Hunger played for his hometown club, Beaconsfield RFC. The 23-year-old captained the men’s varsity rugby team at McGill University in Montreal where he also served as the team’s Director of Communications.
Hunger joins the Jackals from the Pacific Pride where he played in 2022 and 2023. He also represented the Atlantic Selects in the Coast-to-Coast Cup in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
When not playing rugby, Hunger works extensively in mental health, helping individuals facing homelessness and addiction, as well as those with special needs.
Hunger said, “I’m proud to be a Dallas Jackal and represent my country as well as my province of Quebec in the MLR. I hope young kids can look at me and see that it is possible to pursue rugby at the next level. I’m really looking forward to the Texas BBQ in Dallas as well as meeting my teammates!”
